Dubai’s RTA receives four UITP certificates for transport excellence
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been awarded four prestigious certificates from the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), recognizing its excellence in various domains of transport planning and development.
Acknowledgement of Best Practices
The UITP acknowledged RTA’s exemplary practices in areas such as transport planning and regulation, investment strategies, innovation and future foresight, and digital transformation. These certificates affirm RTA’s commitment to aligning its projects with Dubai’s urban and economic growth objectives.
Evaluation and Standards
During the UITP assessment, 55 pioneering practices and 4 unique practices were identified based on their established standards. These practices bolster RTA’s competitiveness and sustainability indicators. Director of Innovation & Pioneering, Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, RTA, highlighted that these practices support RTA’s vision of being a global leader in seamless and sustainable mobility.
Transport Planning and Regulation
RTA received the ‘Organising Transport’ certificate for its advanced transport planning and regulation practices. The authority employs a comprehensive methodology that includes data collection, analysis, and scenario development to create strategic transport plans.
Investment Recognition
The ‘Investment Pillar’ certificate was awarded to RTA for its successful execution of investment opportunities. This recognition underscores RTA’s efforts to boost commercial revenues and strengthen cooperation with the private sector.
Digital Transformation Milestones
The ‘Digital Transformation Pillar’ certificate celebrates RTA’s Digital Strategy 2030, which encompasses 24 innovative digital initiatives across areas such as digital twins, metaverse, and artificial intelligence.
Innovation and Future Foresight
RTA’s innovative strategies, aligned with global best practices, earned the ‘Innovation and Future Foresight Pillar’ certificate, recognizing its proactive approach to innovation and strategic foresight.
