Dubai RTA announces new marine transport lines for Creek Marina residents in Emaar deal
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched two new marine transport lines to serve residents and visitors of Dubai Creek Harbour.
Service Routes
- Weekend Line: The first line operates between Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City on weekends, providing a scenic and efficient route for leisure and shopping activities.
- Weekday Line: The second line connects Dubai Creek Harbour to Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station on weekdays, facilitating commuter travel and enhancing connectivity with Dubai’s metro system.
Collaboration Agreement
The RTA and Emaar Properties have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to develop these lines, aiming to enhance connectivity to tourist attractions and improve overall transport infrastructure in Dubai.
Signing Ceremony
The agreement was signed by CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, and, Executive Board Member of Emaar Properties.
Passenger Growth
Since their launch in August 2022, the marine transport lines have experienced significant growth, with passenger numbers increasing from an average of 3,000 per month to 30,000 per month in the current year. This remarkable 900 percent increase highlights the popularity and demand for these services.
Infrastructure Enhancements
The collaboration includes enhancing infrastructure with the addition of berths for marine vessels, ensuring smooth docking and departure. Additionally, ticket-selling kiosks will be installed to improve customer convenience and streamline the ticketing process.
RTA’s Master Plan
This initiative aligns with RTA’s Marine Transport Master Plan 2020–2030, which aims to boost marine transport usage in the emirate and address the evolving needs of residents and tourists. The plan includes expanding marine transport routes, increasing the fleet of vessels, and integrating services with other public transport systems.
Public-Private Collaboration
Executive Board Member of Emaar Properties emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in enhancing the attractiveness of Emaar Properties’ sea-view developments. By providing seamless marine transport services, the collaboration aims to facilitate public movement to and from these developments, making them more accessible and appealing.
Future Enhancements
The RTA plans to continue enhancing marine transportation services through further collaborations with real estate developers and other stakeholders. This ongoing effort aims to meet the growing needs of residents and visitors, ensuring that Dubai remains a leading city for innovative and efficient transport solutions.
