RTA Announces Major Dubai Road Closures
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced expected delays on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, lasting until September 9, due to scheduled roadworks. Commuters can expect delays during weekdays and full closures on weekends.
Schedule and Duration of Roadworks
The maintenance work will commence on Friday, August 9, and continue until Monday, September 9. During this period, the Dubai-Al Ain Road will experience specific closures and traffic management plans.
Weekday Delays
The RTA has stated that there will be expected delays on the Dubai-Al Ain Road under the fifth intersection with Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road in both directions. These delays will occur daily on weekdays from 10 PM to 6 AM, due to bridge maintenance work.
Weekend Closures
The Dubai-Al Ain Road will undergo full closures starting from August 9 for two weeks, exclusively during weekends. The closures will take place from 1 AM to 10 AM, allowing for uninterrupted maintenance activities.
Alternative Routes
To minimize inconvenience, the RTA advises motorists to plan their trips and use the following alternative routes for seamless access:
- From Al Ain to Dubai: Traffic will be redirected to the free right exit onto Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Hatta, where drivers can make a U-turn at the first roundabout and proceed towards Dubai.
- From Dubai to Al Ain: Traffic will be directed to the free right exit onto Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Jebel Ali Port, with a U-turn at the first roundabout, allowing drivers to continue towards Al Ain.
Commuters are encouraged to adjust their travel plans accordingly and consider using these alternative routes to avoid delays during the road maintenance period.
